Workshops which include 'WAKING DREAMS'

These workshops are designed to enable participants to access what I call our ‘waking dreams’ – by which I simply mean the natural continuous dreaming process of the mind ...while ‘awake’! As with ‘sleeping dreams’, exploration of our waking dreams may offer us our own deeper wisdom – our own knowing what we need to know, and yet may not know we know.

Our minds, rarely still, tend to fill in any gaps in our sense of conscious certainty – sometimes with curious or fantastic stories. Within these workshops, you may gently explore such stories, feeling your way... towards your own personal imagery which you are ready to consciously receive as meaningful and helpful to you in your life.

Waking dreams workshops are held in small groups, designed to enable each participant to choose their own pace, way and depth. I guide participants to practice an awareness of a kind which allows each person to access their own inner ‘dreamscape’. This way of working may give rise to a powerful yet subtle process of inner transformation.

My own intuitive work as an artist is inspired and guided by this very same process. Many years ago I learnt how to prepare myself for my work making paintings. I taught myself to be deeply still and receptive, so that imagery could come spontaneously to me.

Please note: it is VITAL that participants have a basic VISUAL imagination, as we will be using visual means to explore this process, including picture-making. However, it is entirely unnecessary to have artistic experience or skills – as the focus here is firmly placed on felt experience through the evocative energetic language of imagery – which includes personal and universal symbols.

MANDALA

A mandala is traditionally a balanced design of spiritual symbols used extensively in the East for focused meditation. These one-day workshops are largely experiential, using visualisation to produce personal symbols, and guiding you through an explorative and creative process, providing an opening for artwork to emerge and flow, and culminating in the making of your own unique and transformative mandala. Having created your mandala, you will then be shown how to use it as an empowering tool to help you manifest your dreams in waking life.

You will be guided through a meditation which, with practice, will enable the reinforcement of the mandala as a mental focus for the realisation of dream materialisation. I believe that in the process of creating a mandala, individuals grow as their unconscious thoughts are actualised: a form of spiritual inspiration.


THERAPEUTIC / REFLECTIVE / CREATIVE WORKSHOPS – in general
Therapeutic/Reflective/Creatively-Expressive workshops provide an experiential, empowering, focused way to work more deeply on your self – especially if you wish to ‘wake up’ and step within and beyond the image seen in the mirror, the outer self. Such workshops are designed to nourish your soul and support you in becoming aware of the changes you might need to make in your life to be more fully alive, and to help you put them into effect. Who are You?
This is perhaps the hardest question to confront in your life, and there are many ways of asking it, and attempting to seek the answer. The most powerful relationship is the one you have with your self. When your soulful connection is neglected, this becomes reflected in all other relationships. Essentially each experiential workshop will guide you towards the one who has been waiting all your life to meet you… your deepest, authentic self. Underneath all conditioning, all learned behaviour, all imposed beliefs which are neither your truth nor the truth of you, you were born innocent. It is that innocence beyond the masks of the personality which I seek to help you rediscover in my workshops. The innocence of being - the "inner sense" - beyond description...
Dreaming Souls click to enlarge	The insights you gain may help you feel more in charge of your choices – and freer to live authentically, grounded in your own truth and aware of the self-created barriers that stand in the way of a meaningful and fulfilling life.
In all workshops, you are offered a respectful and supportive environment, aware of the challenge to all participants in bringing their powerful and private personal material to the group. It is anticipated that individuals will take responsibility for integrating their experience within it into their life, and therefore establish with you beforehand what support you have for this, and what experience you have had already in working on your self.

The weekend is designed to engage each individual in a reflective-experiential process – to deepen your relationship with you, as you journey ‘home’ to your true self and essence. As this profound process unfolds, we will consider and explore life-themes, our lives as ‘waking dreams’, symbol/archetype (universal/personal), and the mandala (centre within circle) as essential pattern. Integral to this, you will create (in your own chosen way) your own personally meaningful mandala picture. MANDALA OF TRANSFORMATION WORKSHOPS
Mandala of Transformation workshops will bring together your inspiration with the combined experience of writer and Integrative Psychotherapist Lesley Hayes and soulful artist and Transpersonal-Integrative Psychotherapist Jaimie Cahlil. Although the process rather than the end product is our aim, you will also benefit from having a satisfying and beautiful piece of art by the end of the workshop. We hope in these workshops to give you an opportunity to experience the power of mandala work - to which no words of description can really do justice. MANDALA A mandala is traditionally a balanced design of spiritual symbols used extensively in the East for focused meditation.
